okay, this is going to be a bit achaea-based, so for those of you that haven't a clue, feel free to ignore it :p and my style of writing may have changed just a bit, i just waded through 200 odd sentinel posts, and that tends to make me a trifle more longwinded than i already am. *grin*

one thing i found out when i was wading through the posts was fairly, no, very shocking. my in-game 'father', Atlas, was found to be a druidic traitor, and enemied from oakstone, the sentinels and the druids. (i think). *blink* as well as his 'soul-sharing' other character, Goliath, who i could've sworn was his classmate. hrm. and my ingame uncle. and with the sent policy of guild over family, friends, city etc, that's not good. oh, and one thing? I believe he's from hwa chong junior college, which doesn't particularly reflect well on the school's average CME level does it? *snicker* *cough* anyway! that was the only really major thing that happened that affected me directly.

landon also suggested that going down to crackers and water might allow me to buy more stuff, *grin*, and i'm giving that suggestion serious thought, though i do believe that bread's still cheaper here *sparkle* will check it out in Sainsburys in due course. :p

still haven't met up with starrsong, bragor or walter, though hopefully one or more of them will be on this evening after work. i foresee a lot of late nights at the lab in the next few mths til i go back *grin*

just finally managed to get onto achaea. been wanting to since i had a dream, (i kid you not), featuring some players from there that i was particularly close to. was a good dream too. *laugh* very good special effects. however, only one of the computers in the entire lab allows me on it, and that one just crashed. *growl* it's restarting, but it's already 7.30pm and i still have about 60 plates to pour. so it'd be a bad idea to get on again. *sigh*

was lovely though, saw quite a few old friends, Landon, Tranox, Risca to name the most important. oh, and Tallyn. spent most of my time trying to muster up the courage to wade through news, and trying to remember commands. and failing miserably. all my triggers are at home anyway, and of no use anyhow, since i'm using a mac while i'm here. *sigh* also, honorsing people so i figure out who's gotten married, divorced, engaged etc in my 2 month (or more) absence. Scarlet got married, which shocked me. *blink* and bragor did to emty, though he wasn't on for me to congratulate. *mutter* have his email around here somewhere, should go look for it.

oh, and for all those of you to whom the above 2 paragraphs were a load of crap? sorry. *grin*

grr. i won't be posting too much here cos there are people that read this that know her, and whose loyalty is greater to her than to me. but she's seriously pissing me off big time. if there's someone i know with less of a sense of humour than her i'd be very very surprised that i overlooked them. and not only that, but i'm already doing the best i can to tolerate her, as well as trying my best to look at it from her point of view, since no doubt i'm pissing her off as well. but seriously. someone wise told me not to turn it into a 3 mth feud, and i'm taking his advice, but it's hard when the other person does not want to cooperate at all. i'm not going to be the idiot always giving in, regardless of how easygoing i appear to be, and actually am, if you piss me off, i tend to stay pissed off. ah, fuck it.

i'm slacking. again.

my supervisor's off in spain for some conference or other, and i'm supposed to be helping chengxia with her yeast one-hybrid, but.. i'm not. did yesterday though, did my first PCR, (as opposed to the one in the molecular biology prac where we just gave it to dr zaman to do), and my first gel run, and got my first UV picture of the gel *bounce* so proud of myself *cough* :p

the glasgow trip was either fantastic or a disaster, depending on how you look at it. it was lots of fun, i don't think peiyi and i stopped talking at all.. unless we were sleeping or summat. planned out our next few weekends, and made a vague plan for france. going to disneyland! *grin* however, the disaster was how much i spent. in the last 2 weeks, i've spent 608.27. to put that into perspective, it's:
S$1618
US$891.78
CAD$1371.23
942.21EURO

i keep looking at these figures, but it's still not sinking in. granted, it's including rent and groceries as well as the exorbitant public transport here, but even when you minus all that out, i'm still over my budget by about S$400 or so. is it any wonder i went to sainsbury's last night to stock up on bread and economy canned spaghetti? (9p a can :p)

so. what did i spend it on? a suede skirt from oasis. 50. a suede bag, also oasis. 20. a macintosh from Gap. 50. a Warehouse top. 32. *sigh* lucky i resisted the fcuk jeans. 75 would not have been a good idea. add this to what i spent last week on my 2nd pair of boots... *faint*

we're not exactly shopping at cheap places either. at home, i've never stepped into warehouse at all. and now i know almost every single garment in current stock from going into all 3 warehouse stores, or was it 4? along buchanan and argyle streets. and almost bought another top from morgan de toi, another place i don't step into. we don't have gap in s'pore, at least not that i know of, but it's not exactly somewhere i'd shop anyway. *sigh*

so, the next few weeks are going to be weeks of frugality and thriftiness. *nod me* oh, and bread and baked beans (also 9p a can :p). and the damn interim report.
