my hair's getting quite a bit longer, which is good, cos it means it's finally beginning to straighten out again. *mutter* going to leave it long for a while, just doesn't behave when it's short, likes to curl up here, there and everywhere.

things are kinda tense around the lab today. dunno why. and i'm feeling a little bit homesick as well. *sniffle* aaaanyway. it'll pass. eventually. just hope these 2 mths go a little bit quicker. i finally succumbed to temptation and d/led icq, the mac version, and saved it under some weird numbered file in the computer. *cough* noone actually told me -not- to though, so it should be alright, right? *hope*

oh, and i've started watching Big Brother. it's quite scary really. first you're watching it going, omg, i can't believe this, cos it has this sorta horrifying fascination. and 2 days later you're going, "No! Spencer evicted? Oh my god!" kinda thing. then you catch hold of yourself and think, 'What the heck am i doing?' *grin*

if one more person tells me, "My word you speak good english!" I'm going to scream. I mean, if only they knew that the only language i actually speak is english, (my chinese is so bad as to be non-existent), my mum only speaks english, well, except for smatterings of malay and hokkien, that i don't speak anyway, my dad is english, and my brother can't even remember what his chinese name is. (Neither can my mum as a matter of fact.) I don't want to go into all that, so all I say is, actually, english is basically the first language in singapore, then immediately wish I hadn't, cos then they, without fail, say, "Oh really!? Wow, I never knew that! So like, lessons and lectures are in english as well?" Yipes. One day I shall go, "No, I take my lectures in Urdu." *nod me* :p I think the Singaporean Tourist Board (or whatever it's called) should start a government campaign elsewhere. Instead of the 'Speak Good English' campaign (is it still going on?), have a 'Singaporeans do actually speak English' one. *nod me* Or maybe not. But honestly.
