just had a look at jen's pic pages, and i'm so jealous. *grin* her and cat look so good in the starshots pic they took together, much better than the ones i took with cat, which in my opinion should be burnt as soon as possible *grin* so there's another thing to save up for, which i'd forgotten somewhere along the way, i want to get a proper makeover done. you know, at one of those places on the 5th or 6th floor of metro paragon. *grin* no money!

anyway, i'm going to blatantly copy jen and stick a pics page up somewhere, as soon as it's up i'll let you all know.

graphics still aren't working, still can't be bothered to go fix em.

anyway, the last few weeks have been spent thinking quite a bit about what i'm supposed to be doing with my life after i graduate with my diploma next june/july. after rather extensive research and talking a fair bit with my mum and brother, it seems there are 3 options. one being migrating to australia and doing my undergraduate degree in UQ, staying with my brother and saving on rent, or 2, migrating to england, working and then doing my degree here, or 3, and this came from my mum, rather out of the blue, she wants me to migrate to canada. *blink* that was a surprising one anyway.

it looks at the moment like the most likely option is to go to australia, as there're quite serious problems with the other 2. even with a british passport you have to live here for 3 years "not for the purpose of studying" before you get home fee status and save about 9000 a year on tuition fees. I don't think i can afford that kind of time really, since just getting a BSc and a PhD is going to take forever as it is. Canada, well, I can only really apply under the skilled migration scheme, and i don't have the work experience for it, neither do i have enough points under their points system. so, the plan at this moment in time, subject probably to lots and lots of changes, is that i will migrate to australia, finish my undergraduate degree there, (also applying for my british passport in the meanwhile), then work a year or so and try to do my PhD in the UK or Canada, with a view to living in either of those countries. interesting hm? seems rather unlikely from this particular vantage point in time, but, time will tell won't it. may end up living in australia for the rest of my life. which is not necessarily a bad thing i suppose, but still.
