my theory for the day is, when you're spending most of your time thinking about how you're going to de-stress, you're not stressed enough. *grin* and believe me, i'm not. *sigh* my exams are in 2 days and i'm still happily slacking away. and ended up at orchard today.. again. someone please get an injunction to stop me from going into mango, please? Please?

anyway, bought this today, and have reserved a top at Miss Selfridge. Yay. Now perhaps I can get some studying done.

my scalp looks like it's bleeding. side effect of trying to dye your hair red. I'm sitting here patiently, (or not), waiting for the 1/2 hour to be up, and occasionally wandering to the bathroom to have a look at my (seemingly) bleeding scalp. why? i got bored. and peiyi dyed her hair today. the same colour. *grin* we'll see how it turns out on my hair. call it destressing if you will.

in other news, i got the NTUC union scholarship. only $800, but when you're completely broke, everything helps. lol. my mum claims it's hers because it's addressed to her and it was all her work anyway. pah. and it says "We are pleased to inform you that your, child, -name blocked out due to chinese spelling-, has been awarded the NTUC General Branch Scholarship Awards 2002 of $800 for Polytechnic level." nyah nyah nyah. :p

*wanders off to the bathroom again*

I am sick and tired of having to defend a1. Seriously now. I mean, especially when you KNOW I love them, when you KNOW I take these things personally (only for them, only ever for them), do not try to needle me about it. I will NOT be amused. In fact, usually I'm fucking pissed off. But I don't show it. It doesn't mean it's not there, it means it's festering, and the more often it happens, the more likely I am to lash out. And the damage may not be reparable. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but forgive me if I get defensive because I feel I know them pretty well. It's as much as insulting your best friend to your face.

Not to mention the barbs used are usually wrong. No matter HOW many times they sing live, play instruments, sing acapella on the spot when challenged, write all the songs on their albums, the insults remain the same, can't sing, no talent etc. Just because they LOOK like a boyband. Get your fucking facts straight.

Can people like The Vines sing? Not apparently, because they scream. Pardon me if I don't qualify rapping as singing, though obviously it's a talent of its own. I don't appreciate these, but I don't diss them by saying they're talentless either. Ben was a soloist for a prestigious boys choir, Mark performed on cruise ships for years. These positions aren't gained by image. They're gained, and KEPT, by talent. Noone's going to say, oh well, he can't sing, but he looks good, let's keep him on.

If you're shallow enough to judge a group based on popular opinion, that it's not trendy to like them, fine. But don't try to pretend you know what you're talking about. And for god's sake, at least have some common COURTESY not to insult them to my face, not unless you want to end up with a much more serious talk/argument than you wanted. Or you can do me a favour and find other likewise close minded friends. I will only take so much.

I don't presume to judge the things you like, unless you presume to judge the stuff I like. People are different, TASTES are different, for fuck's sake, deal with it and move on. Losers.
